I bought this heating pad to heat part of my whelping box, for which I used a baby pool. The fact that it is a hard plastic pad is wonderful for daily cleaning and sanitizing. The best part was being able to set the actual temperature I wanted it to reach for the puppies. Be sure to buy extra fleece pads for it so you always have a clean one ready to go. I have done about 850,000 loads of laundry with this litter, and the pads are holding up really well. The puppies are now 2 weeks old, and I don't know what I would have done without it. I also have a geriatric dog with arthritis, and am planning to buy another one just for him if I am not done with the other once before he needs it. Spend the extra $$ for this one over the other pad -- the temperature setting feature is well worth it.

We bought this item after seeing how cold our feral cat got every winter, despite the fact that we made a little house for her. She has moved all the straw in her house so she can be directly on it. It recently got to 10 below zero here and she loves to spend her time on her lectro kennel pad. Our cat loves the lectro kennel pad and possibly wouldn't be alive without it. We looked at other fire-safe warming devices for animals, but nothing compared to this product for your money.

This pad covered the Lectro-Kennel electric heater nicely, my oldest dog slept on it each night and she spent most of the cool days curled up on it as well. it's straps on each corner hook under the Lectro-Kennel heating pad, so it does not get worked off by the dog. It's also washable and drys fast.

Arrived promptly, works as advertised. I like the wire wrapped cord so I don't worry about chewing problems. The dogs love it, they get in their warm cozy house when it's chilly out.
