Even better than Yesterday's News February 10, 2010 Sarah Heronbanks 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I usually use Yesterday's News, both for health reasons (one guy is prone to UTIs) and for cleanliness (less tracking). I ordered this because it was available with Amazon Prime shipping, and I am starting to have heavy items shipped to my house for personal reasons. I didn't know what to expect, and was a little worried that I was going to end up with a 25-pound bag of something I hated. I hate, for example, that Feline Pine, as the stuff dissolves into a nasty sticky powder mess. I was pleasantly surprised with the Fresh News. Not only is it comparable to Yesterday's News, but the actual pieces tend to be bigger, so it seems to me that there is even less tracking. Recommended.
Super product! April 23, 2010 Sammie Smith Jr. 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
You only had one previous review of this product, but it was positive. We were looking for something at least as good as Yesterday's News, but in larger quantity. Fresh News cat litter is much better than we expected. It has larger pellets and less small particles and breakdown after cat use. We use it in Breeze litter boxes instead of Breeze cat litter because it is biodegradable and toilet flushable.
Small animal Bedding July 24, 2010 Salem 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this litter to use as bedding for my rats. I traditionally use aspen for my small animals since some of the bigger brand recycled news paper bedding tends to stick to the rats and flies out of the bars of the cage. However this could be sent via Amazon Prime so I decided to give it a try. I am very pleased with the results and will be using this for bedding from now on. As some others mentioned it is larger pellets so it stays where it belongs in the bottom of the cage, does not stick to the animals coats, and does not turn mushy unless your water bottle leaks a whole lot into it. Also it is not as dusty as some recycled paper litters so if you have critters with sensitive lungs, it won't make them sneeze all the time. For the money this is an excellent alternative to some of the more common small animal bedding choices.

i usually buy yesterdays news in the 30lb bag but its so much easier to order here with the free shipping option. my back is very happy when this is delivered right to my front door. this product is just as good as YN. i like the addition of baking soda. it really disguises the aroma of stinky man rat.
The All Around Freshest and Cleanest Kitty Litter July 20, 2010 Etain Ocean (New York City, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had been using wheat and corn based litter products for years because they're natural and unscented (I've allergies). It had some drawbacks. It was dusty and clumped sloppily. The urine 'clumps' that were missed turned into cement that clung to the of the tray which had to be soaked and chiseled out (my cats destroy box liners for fun).
I saw Fresh News here on Amazon and took a chance on it. I'm so glad I did. Since it has a very different texture from what my cats were used to, I mixed some in with their regular litter in two boxes and gave them another box full of only Fresh News. They didn't use the Fresh News at first, but were curious. In a little over a week it became their favorite. It's easy to see (and smell) why. It just stays fresher than wheat or corn based products and absorbs much more liquid. The pellets contain baking soda and I think that makes all the difference containing odors.
Daily cleaning is easier and cleaning the box (especially) is so much better. It's no longer a loathsome, labor intensive chore. I just dump it, rinse the box out using white vinegar as a cleanser, and it's ready to go again. I'm finding that it does not track all around the house like other litters, so that annoying problem is solved as well. It is dust free and hypoallergenic as advertised. It's recycled and biodegradable. On top of all the good news about this product, it's half the price of the wheat and corn based kitty litter products.
The only request I'd make to Amazon now is to please put Fresh News Cat Litter on their Subscribe and Save product list ASAP.
